Drop us an email. Over the next few months, a board of directors will be developed for this organization, after which official non-profit status will be applied for. Non-profit status will create opportunities for start-up grant funding,
A sister-site for marketing of local goods and services such as food, gas, lodging, will also be established, paid for in part by sponsorship by these businesses. Local schools and universities will be invited to participate in many avenues of this venture, such as nature-related events, with opportunities for involving students in USJVO activities.
There are currently many volunteer clubs, organizations, and other groups doing great things locally. USJVO will promote activities of these groups, and will help establish partnerships to enhance and sustain these activities.
While there will be few people working directly for the Upper St. John Valley Organization, there will be real benefits for all valley residents.

Communities in the Upper St. John Valley were traditionally close-knit, a requirement for survival in this remote northern area with long, cold, and snowy winters. Through the communications framework that will be created through this site, local residents will find others with similar interests. Whether you are into bicycling, or bird-watching, there will be opportunities to build partnerships, friendships, and even local sustainable businesses.
The internet and has given the hard-working and talented people of this area new opportunities to market our locally-made products anywhere in the world. Linking our communities together through a common web portal (web site gateway) is an efficient way to communicate what local goods and services are available. |
